Studio ADU Floor Plans

Studios work well on smaller lots where a larger unit would run into setback or coverage limits. Common uses include backyard rentals, guest suites, and private workspaces.

In Ventura County, studio ADUs move through plan check faster than larger models due to lower structural complexity. In Santa Barbara County, studios are often the only practical option on smaller coastal lots, particularly in areas like Carpinteria and Goleta.

Both the H-290 and H-385 include pre-approved plans for Ventura County. Santa Barbara County permitting is handled on a project basis. Hive ADU manages the full permit process in both counties.
